RJEC Outreach Event - February 21, 2016
SWE has decided not to participate in this event this year, due to its proximity to Sonya Kovalevsky Day and the regional conference, as well as low student turnout to the event last year. We will consider participating again next year if SWE volunteers are interested.
The Richmond Joint Engineers Council will be hosting its annual career fair style event for K-12 students. The main activities will be bridge and egg drop contests where the students will build their entries in advance. On the day of the event, RJEC member organizations can have tables to promote their mission and provide short activities for students.
In the past, SWE has brought Legos and a leaf blower so that students can build small buildings and see how they withstand a strong wind. If we have sufficient volunteer interest, we will participate in this event again this year.
