Event goes from 9:00am until 12:00pm; SWE will host two 60-minute workshops

SWE-RVA is participating in the annual Girls in Math Day, hosted by the VCU chapter of the Association of Women in Math (AWM). The event includes 150 middle school girls from 9 school divisions and is used to encourage middle school girls to study math.

As part of the event, SWE-RVA will be leading a hands-on engineering activity - Ship the Chip - which challenges the students to use household materials to design a package for safely shipping a single potato chip. The team with the most undamaged chip and lightest packaging is declared the winner.
